52 A engine work

[b:b1e756baef][i:b1e756baef]On my 52 JD A, I am looking to get my head shaved and ported and also bore the block out, I was wondering what the best bore would be and the best head work to do. I am at the starting stages of a pulling tractor and and kind of lost on where to start first. My thoughts were to shave the head .125 and have it ported and the "eyebrows" feathered, as for the block I was thinking about going either .125 or .250 over, not really sure yet. I guess I am asking if I am on the right track or if there is other places to start first. Thanks everyone[/i:b1e756baef][/b:b1e756baef]

When you go all the way to .250 you better make sure you have a good block. Just bought a set of pistons from schoolers , but after a week machine shop said the more they bore the more cracks they run into. So they are going to have to put new sleeves in it. Magnaflux dont always show the cracks.

730, the only one I have is the one that's on my tractor. I've got a cyclone with A valves and some mild porting in it if you want. send me an e-mail and let me know what you're up to with the B...

Would it be worth it to put a 60 head on there, or would an A head that has been ported breathe just as well? Do you think I will be dissapointed if I spend money on the bore and head work without stroking it?
