Green/Red guy needs some help here, looks like a good project but? don't know how long it has set with exhaust uncovered, was told there was something special about it, but looks like a run of the mill Uts (ser#01205904) by other pic's, what do you all think? Sheet metal is pretty good, every thing is stuck, but looks like it was taken care of in the past, drawbar hole is like new, orignal paint, tires and rear (14 X 30)rims are shot.
Engine #283A4-----01804490, I take it this is the 283 2 block engine? has arch front axle also.
Keep thinking it would be a good project and need to pick it up, but like to hear ya all's comments first.
Here's hoping the pics come through,
Bob

Looks pretty good, complete with all the headlights. It's an early 52 with drum brakes and pedals on both sides.(I didn't check the ser #)
I would pick it up, but I wouldn't pay over $5,000 for it..Ha Ha

Let me look at it FOR you! Where's it at? Heh! heh! Looks complete! Better than Junk I drag home usually! Not many Junkyards in my area even have tractors in them. Might have implement junk, never much in tractors. Cool!

Looks like a good starter tractor to me. And if the paint is as good as the pictures, that part is better than most I have started with.

Probably #2 and #3 pistons are stuck.

The only notable special feature I see is the hour meter on the gas tank.

S/N shows to be a 51, about mid-year. Even has two sets of wheel weights. Paint looks better than my 53 UB. Same engine was used thru the 5 Stars, just relocated the oil filter. Looks like a good project.

My first was a 55' UTS. I thought it was a VERY good tractor to start with, easy to find parts, easy to work on, not too big, etc... That one looks really good - I don't know about $5000 good - but it looks good. Probobly not going to get hurt buying that one, if you decide it was more work than you had planned on, someone would be happy to take it off your hands. Good luck!

Good looking tractor to play with. No hydraulic"s or PTO, must have been low end tractor. Rear looks weighted heavy, for brute pulling power. Good luck with your new toy.

That sure looks like one I spotted in a yard nearby last year. I asked about it and just laughed at the price they gave as I walked out of there.
