530 info

I have what I believe is a 530 Case.It has a mod 22 loader. It is diesel.Has tag on rt side of block with 2072605 on it. Battery is under dash. It has cluster gauges. 4 foreward gears hi and lo range. Hand clutch. Shift lever is straight.No filter in front of radiator. No eagle hitch.Hex head plug with dip stick about 6 in behind shifter. Also has hex head plug on left side just below battery plate.Does tranny and 3pt work off same oil? If so. what kind. Any input appreciated

The plug on the left below the battery box is for the hydraulic system and dual range system lubrication. A good quality hydraulic fluid such as HyTran should be used.

The hex head plug with dipstick aft of the shifter lever on the top of the transmission is for access to the transmission/differential. The operator's manual calls for 80W-90 gear lube which is what I use. Others that frequent this site use hydraulic fluid in both reservoirs.

The nuber you list is the engine serial number. The tractor serial number tag on the 530 and 630 were located on the right rear side panel if it is still on your tractor. Many times over the years these have been left off for easier maintenance access to the area under the fuel tank. The 530 tractors were built from 1960-1969. A quick check of the engine block on the right side toward rear of the trdator and just above the oil pan will reveal a block casting date to help pin point a model year.
