570 Diff Lock Seal?

My 570 has oil dripping from th right side brake. There is a seal that seals the side gear and diff lock shaft. Can I replace this seal without pulling the carrier support plate?

its not to bad pull the carrier plate install new seal and wrap the splined shaft with electral tape to keep from damaging new seal i have the tool for this but tape will work

I have already replaced the seal that is driven into the side plate. But I didnt replace the seal that seals the diff lock shaft. I think that it is whats leaking.

You can make a tool to pull that out, sacrifice a cheap 90 deg. oring pick and grind it short so it can be slipped under the oil lip and turned 1/4 turn to hook the metal part and use side cutters on the end of the shft to grab the pick and pry it out.

Measure the installed depth before removal and make a driver out of the right size exhaust tubing and put a stainless steel clamp at the right place on the outside of the tube as a stop/ reference to get the installed depth right.

Before they changed the design of that seal it was possible and commonplace to put two seals in there but the redesigned seal will not work that way.

There is a driver that the dealers have that has a stop dimension milled onto it so it hits the end of the side gear when installed to depth. Sometimes a shop will rent/take a depost and allow use of their tools but rarely, keep us posted.
