The PTO on my 574 is giving me trouble. When I engage the bush hog it seems to be fine but when I put it into the weeds the PTO will slow and then stop. Any suggestions?

Is the tractor low on hydraulic oil? May need to adjust the linkage. Sounds like it may not be going all the way in.

PTO is activated hydraulically- change filter if you haven't done so in awhile, as they get clogged with crud (especially if the oil gets a little moisture in it), and you can't pump enough juice, even if the level is OK.

Thanks I will check the linkage that just may be some of the trouble. I think I will also just go ahead and change oil and filter and maby that will take care of it.
