6 volt coil

They stole the 6 volt battery out of my tractor (Dont want to buy a 6 volt just yet) can I put any 12 volt in it just to start it useing a 12 volt battery so I can move it

Yes but I would not run it longer then maybe 15 minutes unless you put in a ballast resister. Long then that may fry the coil other wise

yes the coil will work fine for a long period of time without a pronlem. Use a 12v with out the internal resistor. I have done this for years on my old cars and never had any coil failures.
