DOES LP GAS GO BAD? SHOULD I DRAIN THE TANK AND PUT NEW IN IT? IF SO,HOW SHOULD I DO THAT? DON'T KNOW HOW OLD IT IS OR HOW LONG IT HAS BEEN SINCE THE TRACTOR WAS RUNNING. STILL ONLY RUNS ON CHOKE AND WILL NOT TAKE ANY THROTTLE.

Lp gas doesnt go bad, could be 50 years old and just as good, dont drain it, that Lp is spendy stuff.

As stated the gas does not go bad, but the tank can get rusty inside from condensation as well as dirt from fills over the past 50 years. Usually the problem is with the "lock off valve" or strainer. There is a fiber disc filter that gets clogged from rust and debris in the tank.

Take that strainer to clean the fiber disc in solvent and you may fix your problem.

THAT FILTER WAS VERY RUSTY. I CLEANED IT AND IT MAY HAVE HELPED IT A LITTLE.

There can also be a problem with the valve itself. It has a safety to keep the gas from escaping at an incredible rate if a hose blows off. It can limit fuel flow to a seap. To check this you can turn off the valve off while the tractor is running, letting the tractor run out of fuel. Turn the valve back on. You should hear a "tink" sound when you turn it on.

I'm fearful that you have a convertor problem. If you still have the M4 convertor you are limited to NOS kits for a rebuild. The M6 convertor is still availble. It is not a direct replacement, but will bolt on.

As for needing the choke on..... That choke is actually a "leaning" mechanism for starting. Pulling the choke leans the mixture.

MINE IS A M-4. WHERE WOULD I GET THE PARTS TO REBUILD IT AND THE CARB.? AND I DON'T HEAR A TINK SOUND.
