600 Hydraulic Problem

Hobo's suggestion was the key - (using a screwdriver in the fill hole and moving the hand control lever which in turn moves the hydraulic lift control valve in). I pulled the cover again adjusted the valve mimicking the same action. Now, moving the lift control lever back, moves the valve to its full stopped position. All works well and I'm cutting brush again. Quite a learning experience.
Thanks to all that took the time to contribute and special thanks to Hobo.
I hope this might help someone else down the road.

Cool... The few I have done none worked by the book are something would be off.
I use a engine Crain to remove and install the cover.
I do the cover repairs needed install the cover if any adjustment needed its a 10min job to lift the cover and make adjustment while the cover is hanging on the Crain over the tractor.

If this works you will need to remove the big rear draft spring and 3 bolt hole retaining plate and add a shim onto the shaft. This shim is a 5/8" washer with a slot cut into it to clear the dowel pin in that area.

i had a shoulder replaced this week so somewhat drugged up.
This was driving me nuts until I finally found your reply in this thread, ONLY after adding the washer like you said was I able to make adjustments, it was pretty deeply worn and pitted back there, I know this is an old thread,
just wanted to say THANKS to Hobo!
