615 ih combine

I have a 615 IH combine.I have a 3 row and a 2 row corn head a would like 2 get a 4 row for it. Can any one tell me the numbers of the heads that will fit my bine.

I would guess a 744 head would be a 4 row head, but I think a 4 row head on a 615 would be just about to much for it to handle. If I recall correctly a 615 is about the same size as a 303. I ran a 724 head on our 615. It was a nice machine to run.

744 feeder house is to wide for 615. they are very heavy also. if you have quick tach feeder house, you could use 844. i dont think this would work very well. if you want to shell 4 rows look for a 715, they are pretty reasonable.

Your combine is too small for a 4-row head. Money and effort would be better spent finding a bigger combine to do 4-rows.

I actually started my custom harvesting business with a 615 gas and a four row corn head off of a 642 Ford combine.I made a few mods to the feederhouse and the Ford head worked great.Everybody is right though the weight of the head will stand you on your nose real quick. The combine lifted the head fine. You can forget trying to back up any kind of hill. Mine had 800 pounds of tractor weights on the rear and it was still very light. It actually done a super job in 100 bushel or less corn but anything over that would load the screens up and start throwing a lot out the back as well as stopping up the clean grain augers.Back then that is all I had and I made a side living and started a good business with it.

IH NEVER MADE A 4 ROW HEAD FOR A 615 2 OR 3 ROW MANBY ON THE LATER 615'S WITH TH E 800 SERIES QUICK TACH ,BUT ITS THE WIEGHT IS THE BIG ISSUE,WHAT STYLE HEAD IS ON YOURS NOW.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED,I WOULD LIKE TO FIND A RUNNING 615, AND I KNOW WHERE THERE IS A 715 GAS WITH A 744 CORN HEAD.IM IN SW MINNESOTA,SLAYTON
