A 656 is a good tractor. Not too many people complain about them. The shifting linkage can get sloppy but it can be repaired with a little TLC.
 
We have a 656 gas for our loader tractor. Great tractor! Great starting in the winter too. Plow, disc, mow, rake and bale hay with it too. Pretty tough tractor to beat. Keep up on the servicing, especially the hydraulics and it should serve you very well!
