Safety switch was jumped out, so I ordered a new one and as I was afraid of, when I pulled the shift plate, to my surprise, not only was there no safety switch, there was no safety switch holder either. Anything to do with the safety switch was gone. So I got a used holder and screwed the safety switch into the holder and pushed onto the shaft. But looking at it, it seems like the ball on the safety switch does not come close to touching the shaft, It is a good 1/2 inch away, so it appears as if the ball on the safety switch will never get depressed. There are detents on the shaft, so I expected that the ball should ride on the shaft and go in and out based on the shaft detents.
Anyway, I don't see how this will work and cant find any documentation showing how it should go together. The New Holland parts diagram shows a spring, ball and plunger that goes into the holder but I am not sure that what they are showing is integral to the safety switch or external to the switch.
Any help as to how this should go together would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Alan
