6v to 12v generator rewire

I have a 1945 case so with a good generator but i am looking for a shop to rewind it to put out 12v. This not a restored tractor but hanging an alternator on it is not the answer i'm looking for. thanks, chuck.

I think a lot of us feel the same way alternator sticks out from the hood. lets us know what you find out

I had my LA generator changed to 12 volt. Shop replaced the field coils for 12 volt. Original regulator was reset to 12 volt and works fine. The field coil came from Ace.

had the Delco on my Massey done at a local starter/generator shop. new regulator, 12 volt coil. etc. has run fine for over 2 years so far.

update! as it turns out we have a place in san diego called Broadway auto electric who will do the job for $160 and the correct regular around $70. so i'm guessing about $250 out-the-door! saves me from finding pulley for alt, new mounting with tensioner and trying to find a way to hide it! thanks for the responses! chuck
