70 JD Thermostat

The old tractor doesn"t seem to have a thermostat. Pulling a 3-14 plow last fall it barely hit 150 all day. I see there should be 2 on here by the parts book.
Are they both necessary?
What temp should I get for the gasser?
Where is the best place to find them?
I seen one for around $176 on a couple of different sights. Is this the going rate?

$85.99 at Napa. 180F. Looks very similar to Mother Deere's stat.
#357-180 or 33388

195F would be better.

70's after #7031300 use the same stat as the 720/730 with the thinner rim.

I need to check my 60 sometime to see if there is one in there too. I read one time somewhere that if we're running without a thermostat it can cause more wear & tear on the engine not getting to 195 or so.

I thought at first maybe my temperature gauge wasn't working so I ordered a new complete one. My gauge doesn't budge. I haven't put in the new one yet but the more I got thinking about it it may not be a defective gauge, might be there's no thermostat.

Sounds like somebody is getting rich quick. I'll bet this was a common thermostat used in high volumes (in different engines) back in the era.
