I have a JD 7000 planter with Dry Fertilizer attachment. How can I determine if I have the high rate or regular rate auger?

Thanks

I have a couple 7000 planters. I think there is subpose to be a number on them ... which has since eroded away I am sure. I think the ones I have are the high rate due to the height of the screws. As stated in the owners manual, take a 5 gallon bucket and attach it under one outlet. Measure off the required distance, collect, and weigh the amount discharged over the area. The book gives the distance for 1/1000 of an acre I think. Also there is a factor listed in the book to multiply by if you are in a different row width or just make sure you have 1/000 of an acre for your planter width. Do this a few times as it does vary. Be up to planting speed when testing. Just drop the planter so the openers don't quite touch, but the planter clutches engage. Might even be wise to test various fertilizer drops. You have to have a decent scale also that is going to weigh accurately. Don't forget to subtract the weight of the bucket. Also remember that fertilizers are different in density. Therefore you should always check when your starter gets to the farm. I will check back if you have anymore questions.

Thanks Andy
I will check per the owners manual before planting, however I was just trying to see if there was any way to determine the auger prior to that. IE. number of turns in the screws or height of the screws.
