7108 loader

A friend has a 1920 Ford tractor with a 7108 loader. the hoist cylinders go up some and stop part way up. If I put the control handle in float, sometimes it will go up again but then stop. I think the problem is in the valve body, anyone have one apart.

Had symptoms like that once and found the return side had oil in and the coupler was not opening so when going up the ram would hit the oil and have nowhere to go. I would be checking all the couplers first before tearing a valve apart. Also ram piston sealing rims can and do fail. Maybe crack a return hose and see what happens( be careful if there is oil in and safely).
