Trying to move the cast centers on one of my 730lp tractors, someone has put standard 34 centers on it a long time ago, they are in to close with 18-4-34 tires on it , makes it very hard to get on and off tractor,Im trying to move them out, all my bolts are out, even took the push bolts out and oiled them, put them back in and they still wont push wedge out?????Help if you can,What are some things I can try????THANKS

Either fashion a pipe with a half section removed that is the same area as one wedge to strike with a big hammer or smack end of axle with a big hammer(Sledge).

friend stopped by today gonna bring new push bolts that are long enought to hit with a hammer tommorrow, will let you know how it goes.thanks

my advise would be not to hit the axle with a sledge or beet on the wedges. Use croil oil and soak...use a high impact wrench 3/4 or 1" on the bolts and jar them back and forth. Jarring with impact will prevent breakage and save you a ton of money...

I had the same problem with me 620. I needed to move in the right wheal in for plowing. I broke the casting and needed a new center. Good old locals wanted $350.00 for a used center and you take it off. I found one 100 mi. away for $50.00 and you take it off. I wound up with the center and the axle in the back of the truck and a full day in the machine shop. TAKE YOUR TIME. Ed

After you break the back side of the wedge with your buddy's longer bolts and hammering, use Tx Jim's pipe because that will be your last resort. I've had the best luck tightening the push bolts and driving the tractor, worked on a 60 and up to a 4440. Also have the bolts on the back side loosened up a bit. good luck chris.

Take a Pipe that will just slide over axle.Make the pipe length so it dont hit the cast center.Weld a thick plate over end of pipe.Loosen your wedge and put pressure on wedge with push bolts.Put pipe over axle and beat it with sledge hammer.Check if push bolts will tighten more if not repeat with sledge hammer. The wedge will come loose. We just moved centers on a 4020 and I did 4 7020 centers last winter.Do not beat on push bolts you will break wedge for shure.

I ould be VERY FREAK"En careful on hitting the
push bolts & I would be careful on using the
pipe too.. I cracked the outside race of the
wheel bearing using the pipe method... Since
the tractor runs, I would Soak it & run it
Loose & Keep a eye on it. If it"s that tight
the rack bolt is probly froze up too & it will
need more attention.. Did you also loosen the
3 inside bolts?? Sometimes that too helps...
