Was out mowing grass today! the tractor ran good for about hour. then it just acted like the choke was pulled. it loaded up! then died! would not restart! I could smell gas! Floated my guess! any help??? thanks

Sounds like the carb. float stuck. Tap the side of carb. lightly with wood handle of hammer. See if that helps. Take off the hose from cleaner to carb. Does it have gas running out? If so, float stuck.

You can actually give it quite a sharp 'rap' with a non metal object, as said, wooden handle is good. The BFH does not come into play here, no matter how frustrated you might be, but a sharp application of the 'other end' might do the job. Remember, " we are NOT trying to BREAK it, just dislodge some apcray". HTH

Bill.........it take about 1-hr fer the 4-nipple frontmount coil to OVERHEAT and have weak sparkies and engine will DIE, just as you complain. In 4-hrs or overnite cooldown yer MELTED insulative tar will have solidified and yer good to go fer about 1-hrs again. Once the tar melts, you will always have the 1-hr "problem". Biggest cause of melted tar is DPO by-passed the "infamous ballast resistor" for hotter sparkies. Instead of by-passing the ballast resistor, he should have replaced the points. (0.015")

Ennytime you have "starting issues" change yer sparkies......NO ARGUE!!!!
Recommend AutoLite 437's gapped 0.025".
Don't throw yer FLOODED sparkies away, just clean'n'dry them one-atta-time in HOT running engine and save'um fer the next time. (and there will be a next time) .......Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister
