do anyone how to fix when u push in clutch the tran gears will not stop u got to turn it off put in gear broke a fork in tran got new shifter unit put it in now it will not move and the direct drive does not work about 4mo ago broke the block got a new motor and all this is going on work ok b4 that

it was ok b4 the block broke this all starter after the new motor was put in

Is this a standard transmission or a Caseomatic tranny? I don't speak "text", so maybe you could actually spell out what you're trying to say before you confuse folks even more.

it a caseomatic i do not text will myself and i thought all 800 were caseomatic anyway sorry i do the best i can

Sounds like you have a new block to bolt in place. Before you do that, remove that converter & re-build it. Sounds like you have multiple problems going on.

Okay, if you are sure it's a COM, start with posts like this one- http://ytforums.ytmag.com/viewtopic.php?t=936020 just down the page and look for similar problems and fixes. If the direct drive doesn't work it could be a simple adjustment or major problems. Do you have a shop manual for the COM?

And yes, 800's are COM, but people mis-ID tractors all the time.

Just a thought. Are you sure you have everything from the motor transplant in there right? I do not know that it can happen with a com but a clutch can be wedged in at times and things do not work right. You have the pilot that may be wrong. Did you put the flywheel from your tractor in it or one that came with the engine? Did you have side covers off when you slid it together so you know the converter is in the flywheel correctly?

yes i use the flywheel from the old motor there are no side cover on it yes i have a manual it a i&t but it do not tell u alot about it when i put it together it went right together thank i will look at that sight

The cover is the oil fill site on the drivers side or the rectangle filter and pump housing on the passenger side.
With either one off you can see.
Does tractor stop with the brakes when in com?

did you pull the Case-o-matic unit out when you switched engines?

When you shut the tractor off to change gears can you actually shift into another gear?

no i did not pull the caseomatic out went pull the motor. u start it in gear and hit the brakes it wiil stop and u can swich gear but u got to do it fast and hit the next gear or stop motor put in gear start motor and go

So, you can shift between gears if you slow the engine down? You have to drop your RPMs down to an idle pretty much to shift between gears with a COM. The torque converter not locking sounds like it might be the big clue. Could be you stirred up some crud that's blocking things. Simply switching shifters doesn't sound like a reason for the TC not to lock.
