800 hyrdaulic pump

Tore into the 811B today. Found out my PTO problems were due to a worn yoke and some missing bolts. Also found the pickup tube for my hydraulic pump was unsoldered and leaking. Bad news is the hydraulic pump looks pretty well shot. Pump bearings shot which let the gears chew up the body and score the main housing and cover. If I could locate the mythical "wear plate" that allegedly was produced I might, maybe, be able to save the main housing and cover, but the pump body is surely shot. I've contact friend John Saeli in hopes of finding a good pump, but if anyone else knows of a source I'd sure like to hear about it.

Oh yeah, and that edge wound paper hydraulic filter? Are they still available?

Anybody ever tried to adapt a Chain Drive Tractor Pump(S D ect) up to a 400 700 730 800 or 830? The mounting gasket is the same.

Interesting John. They look the same but the part numbers are all different. Without having both in front of me it'd be hard to say. Are "D" pumps more available?

This may sound stupid, but I had an 800 pump in more or less the same shape. I put new bearings in and turned the ware plates over. It isn't purfict but It works. I think the remaining problem is due to ware around the gears themselves.

NO Joke ? ,The Letter series PUMPS will not Interchange with the 30 and hundred series, Shux ,!.?.I thouht they Were interchangeable TOO

I don't care what direction they turn, I need a pump body. Are the pumps themselves the same size do you know?

Hyd pumps from chain drive tractors will not interchange with gear drive tractors. The drive hub is threaded to the pump shaft. One is RH thread, and the other is LH thread.

Bret I looked at a 930 pump. A23380 and A23381 wear plates appear available still. If you have $300. Seems not so long ago some one here rebuilt one got parts through eaton as they were originally js barnes. HTH Tom

You could try this place, they did my Dc pump years ago. back then it cost me $250, but that was 15 or more years back so I don't know what the cost would be today. They can rebuild or manufacture any hydraulic pump part.

Holy crap! I think I could make wear plates pretty easy with the right stock.

Thanks for the help. I've been contacted by a regular here who thinks he can help me out.

The ware plates were in the old pump. The pump may have been replaced by a newer pump at one time or another. I bought the tractor well used.

I didn't say Bret. But when I reconditioned the 930 pump, parts cost about $1450. Been several years. But it sure works good. Tom
