800 rear tires

Were ford 800s released from the factory with 16.9s x28s on them going to a tractor pull that lets you pull them in stock class if they were released that way

What you run into here is that "everybody knows that Fords came with 13.6x28s" I have pulled with 16.9x 28s but it was before there were divisions between stock and enhanced. As Joe says most came with 13.6x28, but I don't believe that you will find any reference to tire size on any parts list. They list the rims and centers only. My old photocopy of the old paper parts book shows that the standard rim for the 800 was 9x28, but probably most were ordered with the optional 11x28, probably with the 13.6x28 tires. However, there is also the optional 12x28 starting in 1955, which one could argue could have accommodated a 16.9. Again the factory book references no tires whatsoever. Surprisingly the book also references a 9" x 38 inch starting in 1959. I would say that it would be entirely up to how reasonable the people making the decision are.

The only tires I've ever seen on 800's are 12.4, 13.6 and 14.9x28, and 14.9 and 16.9x24. I have 16.9x28's on the front of my TW35. That would be a LOT of tire for an 800. Pretty sure 16.9's are meant to be mounted on 14" rims...13" would be OK, but I wouldn't drop to 12". None of this means they weren't offered new with 16.9x28's, but I'd say it's highly doubtful.

M1, et all
I looked at the owner's manuals over at the club site for N tractors.
Both the 800 and 801 manuals list only the 12 X 28 tire for the 80x tractor.
My manual for the 4000 (1962-64) series lists several more. My manual is the one available at that same web site!
14.9 x 28 6 ply is as big as they offered as an optional tire.
