800hd carburator

am working on building a GVI with a 800HD. wondering what other guys are running as far as carburators and fuel. thanks for the help.

I think a Stromberg NAR7 carburator bolts up to a HD 4 bolt manifold pretty well. Are using this for pulling of feild work?

strictly for pulling. currently am running a g-1000 with a p-pump and turbocharched but would like to compete with the 800 guys. have the engine bolted in just gotta get it runnin.

can more power be obtained using lp vs. gas. the guys here all run gas, not that its better, its just what i've seen done. if lp is used what kind of regulator and carburator would be needed.

We recently switched from a big Stromberg to an Impco 200 carb & two Impco E regulators. No more too rich/lean or fouled plugs. Seen big MM's run good on both gas & lp.

mopower05, LW just responded to the UDLX topic below this one. He has one of the baddest LP 800++ molines you'll ever see "barely legal".

that sounds like a good way to do it. right now am just trying to get a few good ideas. where did you get the carburator and regulators?

I also run a G-6 two years ago ran it on 112 octane racing fuel thru a stromberg carb.
Changed over to a lp system built by Motec Eng.
out of Tipton Indiana. Runs Perfect. Matt Gall is the guy to talk to.Very easy on the wallet also. Mike.

It is hard to compete with those. Like we talked about on your other post, 504 diesels can't beat the HD800.

Glad to see you are getting smart!!

What engine do you run the two Impco E and 200 carb on? Setting up my new 627 cube UTS pulling engine for LP.

i agree that the 800hd is hard to beat, but at the same time i would rather pull with the diesel because of the show it puts on. it may come up a very close second but it looks a lot better doing it. not to mention the 504 was only rated at 110hp stock where the 800 was double that depending on who you listen to. either way i am looking forward to gettin it up and runnin.

Hey you gona bring that g1000 to valley mills this weekend i just got mine back together im ready to blow some smoke well hope to see you there. O and good luck with that GVI those 800 molines are alot of fun!!

is there gonna be a pull in valley mills this weekend. i just heard about meridian. im gonna try to make to a pull if there is one since i dont have to work.

i hope it stays dry, but with the 80% chance of rain tomorrow it doesn't look good. what kind of carburator are you running on your gb or where is a good place to look for one.

on the impco 200, do you run stock jets or have you done something to it? i have a impco 200 in the shop and am gonna look for regulators. also are you running a distributor or what are you doing for the ignition system?

hopefully we will have it ready. just looking for a caruburator and getting the electrical system working. have the engine in the tractor and most of the front end back together. probably try to turn it over today.

mo05, We actually down sized the carb jets. The distributor is a billet MSD (X-10) for a 292 Chev that needs a little machine shop time to work.

Eric,

I have an aluminum fork lift tank, mounting brackets, and a flex hose, all brand new. This will be a good set up if you are going to use propane. I can bring to Valley mills if you want it.
If I get my truck back I will have my 1355, but I will be there either way.

For those people wondering "ceaton" is spelled with an "s" and should be "Seaton"....Its hard to beat a West Texas education isn"t it Alex!

Oh and by the way, I think Rusty should let you have his carb, at least it"s on something that wins!

It is looking like a bunch from Texas are going this year. At least one 18 wheeler load, maybe two, plus some others going by themselves. Rusty and I are going, Alex keeps being wishy washy, so who knows?

Look forward to seeing you there!

Jason
