Hey guys,
I just picked up a 830 comfort king case-o-matic Gas, and once in a while it wont start. When it runs NO smoke, NO miss, runs like a sewing machine. When it wont start gas runs out of the intake (on the carb) and I have spark but dont know how good. The guy I bought it from just had the carb rebuilt from the dealer. Any Ideas?

Thanks in advance -Steve

When I was a young guy 30 years ago, I also had one with the same problem. Changed the battery cables and the problem went away. Thought it was pulling down the voltage so much that it gave a weak spark when cranking over.

Hope it helps

On my 830 Comfort king, I have to really be careful to not choke it too much when it is cold. If I choke it too much, gas runs out the intake just like you described. I start turning the engine then crack the choke just a little for a very short time and that seems to cure the problem. Often I
I do not even use the choke. If I flood it, it is a bear to start. My carburator seems to deliver quite abit of fuel eventhough I have carefully adjusted it per the manual.
Keep us posted on what you find.
Thank You.

One of my tractors would act like the Case mentioned here. It would start right up without the choke but you had to work the choke to keep it running untill it warmed up.

I rebuilt the carb in a freind"s 8N. It ran good sometimes and flooded out sometimes. Turned out to be a pinhole in the float. That was a hard one to find.

I think I got the problem solved. I replaced the cap, rotor, points, condenser, plugs, wires and coil. Fires right up every time now. Thanks for all the help guys. -Steve
