830 western special

Does any body have any info on the 830 western special. I just picked one up with a bad motor. Its a comfort with draft o matic. Nice tractor but spun a main bearing. Does any one have a good crank for sale? Also looking for a decent set of comfort king fenders for it and a wrap around seat middle section. These tractors rare or common? Thanks for the info.

I am a bit confused...Western Specials had no 3 point but rather were equipped w/ a wide swing drawbar. As for the crank, is it beyond having it turned down? Bearings are available 10,20 &30 oversize. 730 and 830 cranks are identical but the l960 and early 61 models did not have the counterbalancer.Seats from 730 through 1030 are identical but you will need to take to upholstery shop for refurbishing. Good luck

The model number is 832 and the serial number is 8284099 i think. This tractor has the western front end tucked up under the front of the motor and has three point (draftomatic) with the comfort king fenders not the round style.

If your tag says 832, the number 2 should tell us what configuration it is, but I can't find my info on that.
You should have a later model comfort king going by your serial number. 1966 models are 8279001-8306500 for Racine tractors.
Need more info on the fenders as both styles are squared on 66 models.
Later comfort king westerns used the big wide square fender that extended down over the tire front and back.
Later rowcrops used a narrow squared fender that covered the top of the tire only.
If you have the rowcrop style fender in combination with the set back western axle, you probably have a "standard" tractor.
You can have a 3pt hitch on a standard with the small fenders and the western style set back axle.

From your serial number and description I believe you have what Case called the "4 Wheel" model of the 830. CK style fenders, Western front axel and 3pt hitch. The had an earlier model of this tractor with the clam shell type fenders and eagle hitch. She was a pulling beast. Diesel with dual range drive, fast for on road transport and pull when you needed it. We pulled 5 14s in NW Colorado adobe and up steep inclines too. Great tractor. Have no need for it now, but wish I had one like it or a 930 to play with.

I have a set of Western late style fenders in excellent condition. Also one set of really good row-crop fenders that will also fit your tractor. I am asking $250 for each pair plus shipping from 48609 in Michigan. You can call me at 989 781-0935, evenings.

I have the narrow fenders, not the big wide ones. The rear axles are tapered with a nut and have 30" cast hubs, unlike the other 830s I've seen with the clamp on style hubs. Thanks for the info.
