841 diesel value

Looked at an 841 last night. Metal straight but tough. Tires good but cracked, missing grille. Overall on a 1-10 I'd call it a 4-5 cause I've seen alot worse. Been sitting since 03. Motor was allegedly rebuilt in one form or another. Someone stole the air cleaner last year. I put a battery in it and held the starter for about 15 seconds with a puff of Brakleen and it fired right up n purred after 10 seconds. All 4 gears work. It's been used but still very very useable. Power steering. What's it worth. I want to offer 700. Guy wants 1700....

I'd buy it at 1700$ if it will start on it's own..

if you got it for 1500$ i think you still got something..

$2500 would be dirt cheap here for what you describe.

You guys think so? I drove it around the other night. It runs well. The air cleaner is gone, the grille and screen are trash. The ps works, but is twitchy, but it does not groan really bad, just a little gear noise. It wont go in third. Im assuming a shift syncro is not quite right. Ive got those..but it was originally from fla, and those florida tractors are rough lol So my new statement is, not terrible for a florida tractor..still think its really worth 15-17? I can text pics but I cant post them on here

Based upon the information given in the original post I will stand by my estimate of it's value in this part of the country.
Based upon the additional information you have provided I would say it is still a $1700 tractor - in this area.
It isn't easy to ascribe a value to a tractor based soley upon a written description.
At best a guy can do is give a SWAG.
