i got a new ignition switch for an 870 case tractor and the problem is i dont remember exactly where all the wires went. i know this will be hard but how do i know where they go?

gas: should have 7 wires on switch
The two RED wires go to the B terminal on the switch. One of the RED wires goes from the key switch to the breaker on the back of the light switch. The other RED wire goes from the key switch to a 60amp breaker. YELLOW wire goes from key switch to neutral safety switch. White wire goes from key switch to ignition resistor. PURPLE wire goes from key switch to the alternator warning light. Another PURPLE wire goes from key switch to the hand brake warning light. The third PURPLE wire goes from the key switch to the trans temp light. All of the purple, and the single white wire go on the same terminal marked IGN. on the switch.

Diesel: Should be 7 wires The two RED wires go to the B terminal on the kew switch. One RED wire goes to the breaker on the light switch, the other goes to the 60 amp breaker. The YELLOW wire goes on the ST terminal on the key switch. The YELLOW wire goes to the safety switch. The WHITE wire goes to the SOL terminal on the key switch. The White wire goes to the intake manifold heater solenoid. The 3 PURPLE wires go to the IGN terminal on the key switch. They all go to the same locations that i mentioned above on the gas engine.
Hope that helps.
