88 to OC-6

Anyone know if I can put an 88 gas engine in an OC-6 that has a 77 gas engine in it now? Are the blocks the same size?
 
88 block's about an inch longer behind the rear motor mount. You might have to modify the PTO shaft just a little bit.
 
Somebody in Central/western NY had an OC-6 with a 1650 Diesel engine in it on Craigslist a few months back. The air cleaner was on top of the hood and the hood didnt fit.

But that would seem to confirm that an 88 would fit also.
