This is a 12-volt system. I am not getting any fire on one of the plugs, checked it back to the distributor and no fire coming from it. The other three cylinders are getting fire. Everything looks fine in the distributor. Would appreciate any info about this. Thanks

Exchange one of the wires that is firing with the one that isn't and see if the same plug is still without fire. If so, it is in the cap - if not it is in the wire.

off the top of my head, check to see if the rotor is rubbing on THAT contact - sounds like bearings are gone....you checked the "bad firing" wire? You switched two wires? Got another cap around ? If 3 are hot, points are good, cap or wire or plug is suspect.

Check the point gap. If it is way too little it can cause one or more cylinders to skip and the same if way too wide.

yep.. I'd swap wires, and plugs around, and a spare cap if I had it.

DO verify point gap like zane said.. and check bushings for excessive play.

Sounder and Zane are telling you right, I am not happy with the way that they are saying it.

Check the point gap on every lobe of the points cam, not just one.
