8n front distributor points copper strip

Anyone know where you can get a spare copper strip? Points did not come with one, reused old one - but it is pretty worn. Thinking of cutting a copper strip unless there is somewhere I can get one. Not that big a deal, just wondering. Thought there would be one with the points (no grease either).

D Lewis,The copper strip is not available that I know of.Just take the copper strip off your old points and make a new one.(hint) Fold it in half and double it up.

Well, if you have the time and a butane/propane hand torch, you could convert a copper penny. You would have to read some literature on Japanese Katana sword making procedures (heating, folding, hammering) OR you could just get a chunk of copper sheet (check availability in your area[yellow pages]) and cut it to the appropriate size and install. Hey, if you do it right the first time, you could replicate the procedure and sell the boogers here !! HPH

Buy a square of copper roof flashing at HD.Price has doubled since I bought mine, costs 2 bucks now.
