901 steering hard when turning

Only hard on one side. It’s a 901 Powermaster. We pulled these parts but don’t see anything that looks bad. Any ideas?

The control valve for the cylinder is on the inside of the cylinder where that large stud is sticking out in your first picture. You have not taken it apart far enough to see the individual parts that make up the control valve. My guess is that something (or things) is/are worn inside of there and are causing a leak when the control valve tries to move the rod in one direction, but not the other. Here is a link to the parts diagram for the cylinder:

The parts that make up the control valve assembly are labelled 11 through 17 in that drawing.

Here is a link to a good video on repairing that row crop power steering cylinder:
Thank you! This will help us put it all back together. Do you have any place I can order the rebuild kit? I’m sure the spring is bad and whatever comes in a kit. Thanks

My next project on this tractor is with the lift it doesn’t stay lifted it slowly lowers down. Any thoughts on that or should I make a new thread? Thanks again everyone!!!
