I have my 200 Acres aerated every year! How does the 970 handle it? How wide is the aerway? I am considering putting a 12' behind my 1070

this is a 8' and I usally pull a AerWay harrow behind and the 970 does fine but it will work the snot out of my 770,depending on your soil a 1070 should handle the 12' fine cnt

guys , My hay fields need this done again , Was thinking about getting off 1st cutting , And Do it then , here in Southern IND , It gets Mean Hot and dry every summer for 3 weeks or so,, wonder if that is good time rite after 1st cut ?,.. had a NEW 3pt model rented from neighbor on the deer 4020 6 yrs ago or so ,, had it wieghted down ,deer didnt like it, after 2 days of that torment had to replace the seals on the lift arms under the tranny,, oil leaking everywhere front end was lite even with 4 bricks of wieghts up on the nose , hope to try the 1070 , but it has issues too ,

In Southern Idaho and Northern Utah we have salty water and salty/alkile soil. Using a aerway aerator loosens and fractures the soil which helps with compaction and releases carbon dioxide which is trapped in the soil. It also increases the soils ability to properly drain wich helps flush salts away from the roots. The roots have to be saltier than the soil for the plant to intake water. It also does a excellent job of incorperating dry fertalizer of gypsum into the soil.

AerWay also claims that it creates suction and pulls oxegen down to the root zone our soil here gets tight and the H2O runs down the creek I also like the fact that it leaves most of the grass intact and splits the alpha roots to stimulate growth, when used in pasture areas I have seen a 50% increase in grass production usally after the second year of aereating, I have sold these units for over 15 years they are expensive but very effective, as others have posted in irrigated ground it removes the compaction that the watering brings, I also recomend the pull type units as they will test a 3-pt system, this 8' model weighs almost 8000lbs, I had a 15' 3-pt model and pulled it with my 2290power was fine but the weight needed 2000lbs of front weights so I put it on the 2670, it was my demo unit and when I sold it I sold them a pull transport kit made it a wonderful unit and never sold another 3-pt unit, I also always sold the AerWay heavy duty chain harrows( made of 5/8 roundstock) to pull behind them I would have been using one in these pic's but we had a week of rain forcast so I chose to leave the holes bare so to take maximum H2O

you have any problems with the teeth in there ? guy i worked for had one and he replaced all the teeth with ones from a company called gen-till they were cast iron instead of forged and the guy at gen-till was convinced they were far better in rocks - i would spend 2 hours at least every day before i got in the cab to run - we had a 2o or 25 footer and each tine has 2 bolts on it - i know first hand that there is alot of bolts on there they also liked to loosen up even with lock tite on them
