982 cub cadet

well i picked it up and fellow said it had no fire to the plugs, havent been able to get a manual yet but have the serial and model numbers if someone can tell me what i have. model number is 142984100 and serial number is 2050589U711802. it has a twin cyl onan on it and wondering where is the obvious place to start checking for fire. how to tell if coil is good or not. Thanks to all you knowledgeable people on here willing to share information with those of us less fortunate.

MY procedure is slow, but I start checking for juice at the battery with a test light , if good then go to the switch, find the hot position with the key on, then to coil, then to points, some where along the line the light isn't going to light. My guess is the switch.

oki traced wiring with test light, have fire in the wire all the way to the + side of coil,at the points, and on the - side of coil but no fire at plugs, where do i go next? is the coil bad?thanks.

Are you getting a spark at the points when you
manually open the points?, rotating the crank to
just before they open and open with your finger.
If you're getting spark then and that far, maybe the coil. It would be unlikely both plug wires would be bad at the same time. If the condenser is bad it should still jump the spark plug gap even though it might not be at the right time.
