9n/8n Will not start

ILL Turkey

New User
1941 9n with 47 8n motor, front mount dist.
Working the tractor a few days ago and it seemed to idle a little lower than usuall, almost like it was boging down. Shut it down and would not start again. Changed plugs, points, condensor dist cap and rotor. White hot spark from the plugs. Fuel to carb (marvel schrieber). 6 volt battery good. Pulled plug on carb, fuel runs out, fuel runs out choke when cranking. Tried jump off of truck for faster crank, nothing.
Help, I need the tractor as winter is coming to nothern Ill and my lane is long and I still need to bring in wood. Thanks

you probably have a sticking float in carb thats letting too much fuel in. bang on it a couple times with a peice of 2 x 4 sometime that will free them up. also you more than likely have fouled plugs due to too much gas. put in a new set of auto lite 437 plugs, and while you are at it, blow out the sparkie holes with air to get rid of any access gas. then start her up. Compression check would be my next guess IF you really do have good spark and the fuel is ok, and not flooding..e tc..

I agree with RP40. Too much gasoline in carburetor. Stuck float. My 2N does NOT like too rich mixture at all.I would check this out next. Good Luck...
