9n coolant on head nuts

All of these sealants work fine, but I have Gasgachinch on mine when I installed the head on my 9n. I use it on almost all gasket sealed joints and bolts that are subject to vibration.

Well gentleman. With everyone’s help I was able to fire this tractor up and drive it around the farm. No leaks thanks to the tabs. All I have to do now is adjust the clutch, fix the rear brakes that don’t exist (looking forward to that adventure) and this will be a done deal.

That sounds great, keep us apprised of your progress on this project.

Alright team. Finally getting to working on the rear brakes and what a fun treat it has already been. I am stuck and need guidance though. How on gods green earth are you supposed to open this drum to get at the shoes/springs?!?! I have tried a few things but it will not separate/open up. Reminder it is a 1941 Ford 9n.

@ 1:33 this guy is getting the brake backing plate off. Back off the adjuster and go at it. He is like most hacks he did not replace the rear axle seals he used a sure seal : (. That's a hack repair let me take the repair out it does not repair the original issue its a hack.

After watching that, I am so glad I have an 8N!

That part where he just slides them nicely apart with a vice grip and hammering a bit on the pedal…yeah it ain’t budging when I do it. Thing is stuck in there tighter than….its tight.

Disregard. I finally did get it open! Packed with dirt grease mix.
Its a labor intensive job and a nasty one.
Next we will find out how dedicated you are, are you going after those outer grease seals are doing a haftarse hack job and join the club that Bost they don't have brakes.

I'm not boasting, just observing my particular reality. Since I never pull a brush hog with it - or drive it down the road - or even use third gear - and never will, I see no need to do "a labor intensive job and a nasty one." It stops in less than its own length by putting the clutch in, that works for me (y)
