You fellows look at the 9N serial #252 in the photo adds.Does that 9N look different.I had a 9N that was different looking than that.Is that not a Fergurson. The grill and runningboards are different from the one I had. Just wondering.R.M. In AL

its a mutt. has aftermarket and or 8n parts to get it back together. early serial #ns had a polished alum hood, grill, and dash. i am sure over the years some of that became missing. A guy i work with has a 2n with aftermarket foot boards instead of pegs. what serial # is yours.
check out smiths 8n sight in the archives a link will come up he has a pic. of the polished alum ns
and other useful info.

from smiths 8n page, the grill you speak of is probably alum, hood and dash may be too from factory they were painted grey, but those who want to show rarity polish all the alum,
no expert but other then the red, that tractor may be nice to have to restore.

I sold mine years ago about 1992 but I knew it was somewhat different. The guy I sold mine to was discking one day and the fan flew apart and went into the raidiator. After he fixed it he sold it and got a new tractor. He jokingly accused me of knowing that it was about to blow lol, but I did not.....R.M. NO 9N ever had polished hood and dashes stock. They were all painted grey at the factory like every other 9N/2N tractor. Now, a few collectors have polished those items just to show off the fact they do have the original aluminum parts...
