A bit OT But.........

To all the smartest guys on this planet, Can anyone please tell me a easy way to get the "RUB"or "scuff" marke off of a plexiglas windshield on my JD Gator. Can they be buffed out ? Thanks Jim in N M

Glass repair shops, and plastic repair shops have special compounds that remove marks. They need to do it all the time. Here are three specific hints:
Use fine compound.
Go over a wide area 2" or more around the mark and taper the polishing out to the edges.
Do not go for the mark only you will leave a distorted place in the optics of the plastic.
Use clean cotton only.
Believe in the need to take two hours to do it.
Do not use power equipment/buffers.
(I had a wife (#1) that used 60 grit opencoat silicon carbide on the inside windshield of my Saab to get frost off. It never did come off) JimN

AutoZone and the other parts stores sell plexiglass polish and scratch remover products. I used some on headlight lenses that had clouded over. Worked pretty well.

It's only a couple bucks a bottle, and the application process is pretty simple, so it might be worth a shot.

I got a 3 part kit for doing my snowmobile helmit shields. Also use it on snowmobile windshields and head light lenses. Works very well. Any place that sells helmits should have them.
