Iam looking at a 50's? allis chalmers HD5.
Wondering what a good running one might be worth?
What Hp is it,, 2cyc? It has a loader on it.
Any problems with HD 5's? Thanks Ron C.

The HD5 is a very good machine and he has a
DETROIT 271 in and 48hp and the worth is depending the machine condition and could be between $1500.00 to $5000.00 and I dismantled 4 for parts.

Thanks Hector, for the info. The one Iam looking at, wants $4000.00 for it , he said he had more then that in it. and the good thing it's only about 6miles away.. The guy that has it said, he has had to repair the starter a few times, is that a common problem for them,, thanks Ron

In addition to checking out the engine and drive train, take a close look at the undercarriage. Pins and Bushings and Rollers and Rear Sprockets. Replacement can get expensive. If you have a knowledgeable friend about track machines take him with you to check out the machine....FWIW

Undercarriage can be moneypit on any crawler. For specs on measuring, go to crawlerheavendotcom. Other good board for many makes is IBDozing.

Like the others guy for $4000.00 he should have a good undercariage and they have a good startor on and some time with bad ground the startor is heating and shorted his live.

there was one here in indiana the guy had advertised on here for less than that , its been sitting outside for years and i thought about it when i had more money . He started out at 4k and last time i saw it advertised was down to $2500 i think. good luck. The undercarriage costs are whats keeping me from buying one. Wd s are bad enough lol.
