would like to know how to set the timming on a 70 to 75 model 820 john deere diesel tractor.

Set what timing, the static or the advance? It's just a 152 engine as used in many Deeres. Static at TDC, and full advance is 5.5 pump degrees which equals 11 engine degrees BTDC.
