adapter plate construction?

I'm going to make a set of 9 bolt adapter plates for my G. Do most guys just use drilled holes and thru bolt everything together or do they normally install studs in the nine bolt pattern and tap the holes for the six bolt pattern?

I went the extra mile and recessed the axle, etc., anything I thought would make them stronger. I went from an 8 bolt pattern to a nine.

i used 1" thick plate studed the six bolt side and drilled and taed the 9 bolt side and a locator ring on the 9 bolt side on my john deere A

I drilled the 9 bolt pattern & the 6 bolt pattern in 1/2" plate and mount the plate to the hub clamps for my G. The 6 bolt pattern is not equally spaced. I discovered (2) 3-bolt patterns with different bolt circles. I have the coordinates if you want them

That'd be a big help. I appreciate it. I didn't really want to pull an old hub and leave my tractor immobile until the plates are done.

Glad to help ya. I'll send a dxf cad file & my cnc file if you dont have any cad capabilities. Reply to my email.

(quoted from post at 17:59:14 04/10/13) Very nice and thought out and safe!

I probably shouldn't have to as this question but, are most 6 hole patterns standard? I have a 39 DC Case with 6 bolt flange axles that I would like plates for also.

I did note that Jd must use a uneven spaced bolt pattern.
