I heat that it adds HP and prevents as much wear on your injectors. also heard that there is some semis that have kits that takes the oil from the crank case a little at a time and adds it too the fuel? any more info on this? is it legal?
thanks

The product you are refering to is called the OilMate. Its main advantage is lengthening the service life of the oil. They have a web site, just search oilmate.

A little oil is not going to hurt the mix. The problem with motor oils both new or used is the metals content. New motor oils contain additives and additives are made from metals. Used oils contain both additive metals and wear metals. Wear metals are the by product of engine wear. Nitrates increase the Cetane of diesel fuel and motor oil won't. Cetane is the equivalent of octane in gasoline. A little oil would increase lubricity and that can't hurt. They say we are getting the lubricity additive in Low Sulphur Diesel, but who knows for sure.

If you want more fuel lubricity.. use a good addative like power service.. or stanadyne.. etc.

I don't want used oil in my injector system...

I put my used oil, hyd, etc. in my underground home heating tank. I only put in well screened oil with no water or antifreeze, maybe 10-15 gals per 1000fuel oil.

I did it in a fleet of 5 trucks for 9 yrs. Had a rig made up where I pumped the drain oil through 2 filters and then ran up to 3% in the trucks. No problems at all.
