Well son, we're all a bunch of kids here . Some of us are just older kids enjoying these sites learning more about our tractors & helping some less familiar with tractors .And concerning my age , I act like a teen at times but then again I act like a 63 yr old other times . HTH ! God bless, Ken
 
Since I'm 51 & so far we got another 51, a 50 & a 52, yea you could say it's mostly young folks here. :lol:

Except for GB, you are all young guys. 62 youthful years (still waiting to grow up) with a '45 2N (1 yr. older than me). b
 
44 here.

So far I'm surprised... Guess we're all a buncha "old guys" because ain't it true that the old guys are the ones who have all the answers?

My wife's grandma is 87 years old, still mows her own grass, lives alone (she outlived two wonderful men) does her own driving, shopping, and is an inspiration to everyone. Her youngest son (Denise's uncle) made a crack about another birthday, and she looked right at him and said "Son, it sure beats the alternative."

Lotsa truth to that.

Thanks, y'all, for the help when I've needed it. I'm slowly getting my steering gearbox back together, if other things would quit getting in the way, and I'm sure ol' Smokey is gonna start with her cuttin' up again as soon as that happens.

I"m 63 with the arms, chest and shoulders of a college football tackle and the hearing, sight, and leg strength of a 98 year old retired libriarian. I"m young/old, strong/weak, all in one chunky, bald headed package. My wife, 20 years my junior, recently said I was a grumpy old man. I replied, "Of course, what the h3ll do you think I am? LOL

33 here in NH. Own (4) 8N's and (1) 9N. Had a couple 2N's a few more 9N's and a couple other 8N's. Not to mention I have 13 other non Ford tractors at this time. Most of the guys that come over to check out the tractors are in their 50's and 60's. Fun hobby, I love it!
 
I"m 45 but don"t know what happened to the last 20 years. I remember being 25 then all the sudden, someone put 45 candles on my cake! :)
 
I will be 62 in December, a little younger than my 1941 9-N and some older than my 2 1953's.

I turned 73 August 21.

Still can outwork my 20 something grand boys any day of the week! Have an artifical aorta and femoral arteries. Heart stints and now bladder cancer and can still lift more than those boys! They actually are stonger but don't know how to use it yet. Not full grown like I am!

67 here - first 17 years on the farm - horses, then a 2N followed by an 8N then replaced by an 861 - which is still doing fine up on the NY farm today - I'm not up there now but am presently messing with my 2 8N's down here in SE Ohio after 50 years of no tractors - one is Dad's original '50 8N and is doing fine. T'other one is a '49 and is old & tired (like me, my wife sez)! It is nice to have 2 8N's, cause at least one of them is bound to work on any given day - plus finish mower on one and bush hog on the other is handy in summer.
 
As of RIGHT NOW (inl. Dell WA) the math says AVERAGE AGE= 53.0375 yrs. Hell, I'd gladly go back (maybe a little further, knowing what I know KNOW) b

I come from around the start of the "N s" in 1935 makes me at around 73 but still holding my own and teaching my 8, 9, and 12 year old grandsons how to drive the 8 N last week.

I was a 2 year old tot, walking, running, and playing with my toy tractors when my 47 8N was just being born. I was 25 when I bought it, a very tired tractor with front and back blades for $400. It has gotten better with age, and I've gotten smarter with those same years. The years go by far too quickly!!

This has GOT TO BE the biggest bunch of replies in history, so I'll add another . . . I'll be 65 in mid November, been retired for a few years. Got a '48 8n. There seems to be a lot of forum members from MN, me included. Just shows that us gophers know a good tractor when our wives let us see them . . .

25 year old here.. Bought my farm when I was 22, raised on a farm since I was 7, Im an Ex aircraft technician for the Canadian Forces, now I am an administrative clerk part time, and a farmer the other half. Im seasoned though. Been through 4 career changes already. Have my red seal for Culinary Arts, and presently finishing up my Bachelors of Agricultural Sciences specializing in Crop Advisory and Production!!!
 
My '45 2N has 6 years on me. We're both about in the same shape, though....still working pretty good, but some of the paint's worn off...

I'm 25 years older than my '50 8N. Jeez, I don't wanna mess up the age average so I won't tell my age but I am a WWII vet. Not too many of us left.
 
I was 58 when I found this great N-Board just after it started in 1996, so that makes me a full 70yo......Dell (WA)
 
29 years and thinking it's now time to start counting backwards.

By my math, we have a cumulative 4,087 years of tractor knowledge here, with 77 reporting. 53 years is the average.

Well I started it are you counting. I tried to get them to just list how many but you know how that goes. Guess you will have to work a little bit on the count

Unfortunately, no. Gotta work this weekend. But Monday is carved out for some shop time. The weather should be great in our neck of the woods.

Going up tonite, coming back Sunday--just have to do some mowing, grading the inside of my new tractor shed, and cleaning out some old fence lines.

38 here. I hope when I'm the same age as my 8N and all broken, somebody goes through and fixes everything on me too.
 


Im 49 - going to hit the big 50 next February - seems like yesterday I was at school. Time passes quickly...As they say Youth is wasted on the young!!!!
I still often work a straight 10-12 hour day without a break in the kitchen - got my work ethic from my father.

I turned 66 on the day this thread started. Got a 5 year advantage on my 2N. So far it has outsmarted me but I can still run.
Took the kids on a 5 day wilderness canoe trip this summer; that took a few years off -- nice to get out in the bush.
