Air Compressor Motor

I"m looking to buy a motor for my newly acquired air compressor.I"m looking for a 3 horse power,frame 184T.Any body got one close to upstate NY or surrounding area that I can comfortably drive to?Or,a real long shot.....anyone got an Emerson Electric motor that the fan-end end cap is any good? Mine is in pieces{Don"t ask why}.Or a place that has the end cap that I need?I can supply model number if needed.Thanks for any replies.

Wish you were a little closer to Illinois. My neighbor has a brand new 5 horse 220 single phase he is looking to get rid of real reasonable.

TSC tractor supply has a 5 horse single phase 220v for around 170$ taxes varies from state to state.

Put on on my old air compressors works great.
Original 2 horse motor finally gave out after 12 years service.

An aircompressor in particular requires a high starting torque motor. It should have 1 or 2 dry starting capacitors and an oil filled run capacitor.
It doesn't have to be a TEFC unit such as a silo unloader motor.
Read the fine print on the label. Some motors are 100% duty cycle and others are 115%.
If you find a 3HP 100% unit. Measure the running current as pressure increases. You may have to back off the high pressure set point 10 or 20 psi.
#14 or #12 wiring from the power panel is too small.

Yup...right you are.The particular motor I need is a big,heavy monster.Start and run capacitors,1and an eighth inch shaft,frame size 184T.I've alreadt checked the motors at Tractor Supply.The one I need is $303.00 Thats gonna be my last resort.Sure wish I could find a used one.

Try Northern Tool. I got one from them and it works fine for $189.00. Mine is a 5 hp.

bought mine 5 hp off e bay ...184 frame heavy duty 5 hp check this one out 190160602176 5 hp 184 1750 rpm for 290 shipping free ...no I'm not seller, might check out 3 hp ...
