Airco/CONACO Torch Tips

Airco was bought out by Virginia based CONACO in 1987. Conaco still makes the same handle, cutting head, tips, etc. as the old Airco unit I have.

I see many other companies sell tips, etc. for this torch. What torch/welding suppliers do you folks recommend? Are there on-line suppliers more reasonable than going to my local Airgas or Praxair?

I want/need a rose bud and a couple welding tips.

Thank you,
Glenn F.

Tips are 5-6.00 dollars, the rosebud is going to cost 50.00 and up. If you have a welding tip you can use the base for the rosebud and save some money.

I probably have the same (or close) to what you have.. I have Concoa (Airco)

I used to get tips that came in a red/white box.. think it was american torch or something.. I run propane, which makes a difference.. but they offered a 1-piece tip as opposed to the normal 2-piece propane stuff.

Haven't bought one in about 2 years now, but I payed close to $20 then.

And yes, acetylene is better than propane (I know.. not the question, but I'm going to hear grief about it).. but it has done anything I've ever wanted to do

I grew up with Airco products. Have used them
for over 40 years. I watch ebay and buy all my
durable and consumables there. Sometimes I
bought junk, but overall it has been cost
effective. I buy a year or two ahead and usually
find some great deals.
Another thought, I trained my wife on Airco
products and good prices. She has brought home
some good stuff from garage sales. A lot of
garage sale people do not know what they have.
