My steering stopped. I cleaned out the filter which was installed upside down. Found two small peanut size acorns in the bottom of the reservoir along other small dirt. Reinstalled the clean filter correctly, refilled and tried to bleed at the ram. with the wheels elevated they turn both ways, but only bleeds when turned to the right and the steering wheel will stop momentarily and bounce on that stop. It is a good stream of fluid bleeding out but doesn't seem to be a high pressure.
They will turn to the left but no fuid bleeds out and no stoping of the Steering wheel.
If dirt got into the pump would it pass through to the pump and block up the steering valve?
(Thinking about this now, I can't see how the fluid would flow at all with the filter installed upside down, but I swear it was.)
I also bled the HP line to the steering valve at the valve and had flow there.
When the wheels are on the ground they won't turn in either direction. Hoping that someone familiar can guide me before I get in more trouble.
Thanks,
ACNY
