Allis 170 hyd. pump overhaul kit question

I have the overhaul kit and it has the rubber seals that go in the metal rings. It also has some large seals, blue color that also fit into the seal area but if you install all of them then it's to fat. What do you do with all the blue seals..?? I have a three stage pump. Are they for a two stage pump..?? Are they to be used instead of the metal and rubber seal..???

What do you mean by "too fat"? From what I remeber of that pump the blue seals are the body seals and go around the outside of the wear plates, one seal for each plate. They are thicker than the space they fit into in order to allow for some compression. Is that what you're seeing, or something else? The pressure seals, the odd shaped ones that fit into the grooves behind the wear plates are also under some compression when new, and make the gears very hard to turn as the pump is assembled and the bolts tightened down. If this is what you concerned about, it's normal. The pumps are stiff as heck to rotate when first assembled and the more oil you add while doing it the worse it gets. As long as you can still turn the shaft with a large pair of pliers after all the bolts are fully tightened, you should be OK.

on this rebiuld kit it was blue seals just like the black ones that go in the wires. where do the new blue seals go?? under the new black ones??
