tractor will fire on ether but not on own gas carb is full of gas carb has been cleaned have good spark any ideas would be great thank you in advance

Did you by any chance forget to put the venturi back in when you had the carburetor apart??

As Dick say and also just because it looks clean is it really clean. Those passages in a carb can be hard to get as clean as they need to be. One thing you migt try to check out what the problem is, is to take off the air intake tube from the air cleaner and hold your hand over the end of the carb. You should have a good suction there if you don't then you have a vacuum leak some place or other engine problems like low compression.

Hold your hand over the throat of the carburetor to see if there's good suction on your hand. You need good intake maifold vacuum to pull that atomized fuel into the combustion chamber. Check the intake manifold for vacuum leaks and the carburetor.

You didn"t say if tractor in use, ran poorly or quit, and carb cleaned to try to get it going, or if you resurrecting one down for awhile.
If recently in use, holding palm of hand over carb air intake while cranking should not only show good suction but wet your palm; if palm stays dry gas not getting thru carb.
If resurrecting unit, gas may have lost its volativity thru evaporation, may not fire in cyl"s.

thanks for the info one of the passages through the carb was plugged up solid pb blaster broke it up bolted back on started right up thank you

You need two things to start and engine. Fuel and spark. If you have spark, the engine isn't getting any fuel. Probably a plugged enrichment passage down below in the carburetor. If it fires for a second on ether, she's not drawing any fuel up into the engine. Probably the carb needs a roto-rooter. We offer carb rebuilding if needed. Drop us a line if interested...
