Allis CHalmers B Split Rims

About 19 years ago I put a set of new tires on the rear of a AC B with split rims on it. The fellow who owned it said his dad bought it new with steel wheels on it. Our local blacksmith had a wheel jig, he cut the steel wheels off and put on what rims he could get at the time, keep in mind this was just after the war.

Thank You! This is a 38 b and it has the spindle front wheels, so these are probably the original rear rims. Appreciate your comment.

Split rims were just not factory. The factory rims starting in 1937 thru 1938 were as pictured and held on with the clamps that is shown in the second picture.

I have three 1938 B's from NY, OK, IN. none had split rims.

Some one is giving you bad information.

My bolts look like that, but the clamps look totaly different, more like a u and about 3/4" wide.

Do you know where I can get original rims and clamps?

Roger VanCamp in Fort Wayne Indiana. I don't have his phone number handy. He ships all over the country.

I have them also but dont sell parts. I will trade parts though.

I have see several that had the truck rims with truck tires instead of turf tires. I have not seen them with tractor tires mounted. Looking at the way they are mounted they sure look like factory clamps. Be fun to know the history of how many would have came from the factory if in fact they did. That tractor has been around 69 or 70 years.

I have seen a supposedly all originall tractor like the one pictured and it had the same rear wheels. I don't remember what year it was but I remember it being one of the 1st years this little allis was offerred

Do you knwo which are the correct decals for this 38 b? Black / Blue? Long Letters or straight?

Thanks

Jim
