Allis D17 262 gas

I was wondering If anyone here has put a 262 gas buda into a D17 allis. I use to have a Picture of one saved on my computer but Lost it. I know that Allis made a cotton picker outfit that used a D17 tractor with a 262 gas 6cly. sopostobe leagal to pull with.

I have read that also. Just as well start with a 301. Probably won't let you pull Farm Stock. Should be able to Modified. Just put side shields on it and keep quiet. I'm wanting to put a 3500 series in mine. Vic

I HAVE DONE THIS. I BOUGHT A D17 DIESEL #5 CYLINDER IN THE HEAD WAS MELTED. I TOOK ENGINE OUT TO FIND A HEAD. WAS AT A SALE FOUND A 262GAS POWER UNIT OUT OF A COMBINE PUT INTO D17. ONLY PROBLEM EVERYTHING IS ON REVERSE SIDE. TOOK SOME TIME AND EFFORT,NOW TRACTOR RUNS GREAT. LOTS OF POWER AND LOTS OF GAS.
