I'm wondering if anyone knows how to keep the track on a hd3 from loosening every 100ft of travel. very frustrating!! Thanks

I would say the threads are stripped, most likely in the yoke. Drop the tracks, pull the yoke and the adjustment rod, and check the threads. The yoke is too thin to bore out and rethread, but you can either weld a nut to the yoke, or make a hydraulic adjuster. A porta-power cylinder works very well. If you're in a pinch, you can tighten up the track by chaining it to the bucket or blade and pulling it tight; then weld a bar to the adjuster that comes up firmly against the yoke, but if it needs adjustment later you're going to be cutting it out with a torch and starting over.

wow..way wrong! there should be a lock on the yoke witch uses two bolts to lock the yoke in place,i bet the lock has a problem or its missing.these crawlers use a very large threaded coupler,rust gets inside the coupler and rusts the threads.

Both my yoke locks are missing. On one side the threads inside the yoke is stripped. I welded a nut to the end of the yoke and have another nut to lock it. The other side is rusted together. Only thing it can be is srtipped threads.
