Almost had a heart attack today!

Went to MF dealer after work today to get kit for wheel cylinders. Only had 1, some guy called just before me and took the other one. While there I priced new flutes for cornhead stalk rolls. Uses 2 per side, 4 per row. $180 per row. I about passed out. Priced them a few years ago and they were $40/row. Told him I didn't need them that bad. Came home and looked over the parts cornheads and think there are enough for 4 rows that are better than the ones I'm using so looks like I'll be taking them off and putting them on the head I use. Guess I should have looked at home first. It pays to have lots of spares setting around. Chris

Same here , I priced engine head bolts for an 860 Ford tractor at a Ford dealership at 20 dollars each, 240 dollars for 12. What a rip off.

Yep I don't know whats up with parts now days. I priced a full gasket set about a month ago for an 8N ford and was told $27 and now its $47 can't figure out how they could go up 50% in in one month

Hey Rich, an increase of $20.00 from $27.00 to $47.00 that's a 74% increase. And no Kiss.. :?

Yeah, parts are expensive everywhere but it seems something unique is going on with MF. I no longer have anything MF that needs spare parts because of pricing problems I have had.
I wanted to rebuild a disc so got a parts list and checked prices. They were all over the place. A right side part was $45 while the left was $250! I couldn't believe it and it happened repeatedly through the parts list. I had seen this before but didn't pay attention.
A left and right part that were the exact same part and could be interchanged cost $30 for one and $190 for the other ( I can't recall the prices exactly).
I was so baffled I called the HQ of the company to speak with a Big Dog in the parts group and asked if this was an error or their typical pricing. He said a lot of words but I took the hint, sold the cultivators and replaced with one I can buy generic parts for.
That's it with MF for me. Yes, I know all parts are expensive but I'm not playing that game.

You think parts are high go out and buy some new steel, angle and flat bar. Needed some flat bar about a month ago,1/2x2-1/4 ,they charged me a dollar an inch.

Go to your local JD dealership and just drop your pants and turn around. I am satisfied that whole organization is ran by twisted perverts!

Guess those prices are why when I opened my statement from Edward Jones today,my Agco stock had gone from the $21 that I paid for it to $50.77. Buy those parts darn it,mama needs a new pair of shoes. :)
