Almost ready to split

Almost ready to split the tractor to replace ring gear.
These are the parts I need to buy right?
Ring gear
Pilot bearing
Throw out bearing
Tranny seal and gasket
I previously removed the starter is it easier in the long run to replace it before the split or during or after?
When I place the cribbing under the back half of the tractor do I make it even to the height of the tractor before it's jacked up or do I jack it up a little then crib - reason I ask is I'm assuming uneven pressure on the bolts that need to be removed will make it difficult to remove them . I will be using a engine hoist as soon as it gets here. Thanks
You guys probably thought I gave up !
LOL
Thanks Stuart Paterson

I crib under the tractor as it sets.. then just a hyd jack to lift it the las bit.. and then crib under it after split. when going back together.. again.. the hyd jack lets you fine tune alignment.

Personally, I prefer to install it after splitting and reinstall before marrying the engine to trans. But my bell housing wasn't massaged when I split the '52.

It can be done either way. There is less in the way when they are apart.

Taking a grinder to the bell housing where the starter drive inserts, helps when you need to slip the drive over the ring gear while they are together.

Use a couple of 7/16" bolts with the heads cut off as guides when putting the halves back together.

I roll the back so no crib'n needed... I were going'n to crib it, it would B under the oil pan... Either way wedge the front axle...

Any difference which end I roll? I have the back of the tractor up against a wall -- was planning on putting the cribbing under back half and rolling front .

I find it much easier to crib the front and roll the back. When the radius rods and tie rods are disconnected the front wheels will like to flop around any old way and it's hard to 'steer' it back together. With the rear half free there's no flopping around of the wheels and you can use them to roll it back together.
I also like to hear the term cribbing - which I assume means wooden blocks?
Working on a tractor on metal jackstands would give me the willies.

I always roll the back. Whichever end you roll, bolt a trailer jack to it with a fabbed up bracket. You get maximum stability and easy rolling.

Hey do I need to buy a transmission rebuild kit to get the gasket and seal or can I buy all seperate ?
Would the bearings come in a rebuilt kit also ? Look to be economical not cheap.
Thanks
